I mentioned to my dad that I have a friend from abroad I exchange emails with and he asked me how I met her. I replied, "well, you see, I have an old-fashioned website and this girl has one too and we met each other through that and we are friends now..." Told him a little more about how Neocities works without mentioning the name of the platform.
Dad said "wow, this really sounds like having a website on Geocities, I used to have one in 00s"
My dad had a Geocities website and now i have a Neocities one...
He then told me his site was about playing bass and he met a friend through that too, and they are still in contact and chat sometimes, even after 20 years have passed
